1. Origin
The Office of Academic Affairs was established to coordinate academic and the related administrative work at the university upon its establishment in 1954, initially as a college. With the marketization changes brought about by the globalization trend in higher education, the role of the Office has become increasingly important, not only in the original responsibilities but also in improving and overseeing teaching quality and strategies. The Office has comprehensive and detailed planning in areas such as organizational system, student recruitment and admissions, teaching, student learning and performance, and social responsibility. It is fully dedicated to enhancing administrative efficiency, improving teaching quality, and practicing social responsibility.
2. Organization
The Office underwent two reforms, once during the academic year 2016-2017 and again during the academic year 2019-2020, in accordance with the university’s restructuring policy. Nowadays, there are 3 divisions and 2 centers below the Office, which are the Admissions & Student Recruitment Division, the Registration and Curriculum Division, the Academic Planning Division, the Learning Development and Advancement Center, and the Continuing Education and Digital Learning Center. The Office is led by the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Deputy Vice President for Academic Affairs. Each division/center is led by one director and there are several administrative specialists in each division/center.
